Stern 2 Sailing is a family run company, founded on a passion for sailing. After years spent working on a variety of yachts, Luke and Emily decided it was time to use their experiences to create a charter yacht company with a difference.
From Greece to the Canaries
Spending their summers sailing in the Ionian amongst the Greek islands Stern 2 Sailing provide a blissful 6 months of bespoke charters, unforgettable day trips and stunning sunset cruises, but once the days get shorter and the weather grows colder they head for warmer climates. For the months of November to April you can join them soaking up the winter sunshine and sailing around the fabulous Canary islands offering their same outstanding charter experiences.
Luke started working on boats at the age of 19 after gaining his Yacht Master Oceans degree. Having worked in Greece as a flotilla skipper and a sail trainer, he has extensive experience of the Greek waters so you can be sure you’re getting the best advice on where to sail and where to find some of the world’s most amazing secluded beaches. As well as working on sailing yachts, Luke also has experience working on super yachts and tall ships, as relief captain, engineer or bosun- sometimes all three! He and Emily own a yacht near their home in Suffolk, which he fully restored after it was left for ruin for 18 years. Luke’s passion for mechanics and engineering began when he started helping out in the family garage aged 10.
Emily has worked in hospitality for over 15 years and is passionate about her work as a hostess aboard yachts. Her first role on a 24m luxury sailing yacht took her from the Outer Hebrides of Scotland to the sunny shores of the Canary Islands. With her love for travelling, Emily has lived and worked all over the world. But after spending extensive amounts of time in Greece over the years, it now feels more like home than home! So, when she and Luke came up with the idea of Stern 2 Sailing, it made sense to be based in possibly the world’s greatest area for sailing- and a place they both know so well.
